Seven day internal energy yoga training 08:00-16:00 ||

Evolution of kriyā
Practiced and developed in real time, standing the test of time. Simon began yoga practice with pranayama in 1966 & bandha in 1968, and to this day implements effective methods for even beginners to access the heights of the state of yoga founded in the understanding from his teachers, mastering kriyā is a preemptive qualification for effective āsana practice.
Lineage in present day
Some of his direct teachers were BKS Iyengar, Desikachar & Patthabi Jois, though he has been taught and influenced by great yet lesser known Himalayan masters and champions of yoga within India such as Professor Bhim Dev.
Art of prāṇāyāma
This direct access is owed to an emphasis on naming prāṇāyāma as the art of breathing less, not more, and how movement & posture contribute to effective energy conserving & cultivating practice. These understanding were imparted during Simon’s intensive India trainings from 1981 onwards.
Simon brings forth krīya and prāṇāyāma as fundamentally important elements, often overlooked in the exercise approach to yogāsana.
Simon co-founded YogaSynergy in 1994, one of Australia’s most well known & respected yoga schools since way before the boom, with a style grounded in both ancient practices and modern science.

Since 1990, he has taught at international conferences as a respected global educator in the field, running teacher training programs across India, Bali, Europe, and the Americas for more than three decades.
Science based
Since 1994 Simon has offered advanced yoga trainings and additionally training as a physiotherapist (1996) uncovered the essentials of better applications of modern yoga with higher Western level education anatomical training, following onto co-authoring “Applied Anatomy and Physiology of Yoga.” in 2005 ISBN 1-921080-00-0

He taught at RMIT University in Australia, implemented grants for research into posture, movement, and breathing at the molecular level. Reformatting the approach to posture and movement which is the urgently needed revolution of movement positively affecting the mind and nervous system for our time.
Yoga revolution
To understand the discoveries made in the lab and under scanners during full time in academia, Simon shows simple practical experiential ways to experience the phenomena which allow yogis to redirect their life force back into healing and regeneration whilst enjoying the benefits of yoga postures and vinyasas. It’s a reduced and simplified approach that brings us back to square one, refines our ability and faculty for deeper sensing and applying bandha in nuanced & informed, universal ways for stability & mental regulation.
East Asian influenced
Many report the effects of this approach transformative and empowering.
Highlighting various correlations between yoga and eastern forms of internal energy cultivation since 2007, and working closely with lineage holder from a respected ancient Chinese tradition, Master Zhuen Hua Yang (Calligraphy Health) Simon shares insights into harnessing and demonstrating the internal power of cultivation of life force energy, referred to as Qi/Chi which appear as a fingerprint throughout the 5D Synergy flow techniques.
Energy body
Simon’s earliest trainings for in depth yoga teacher training transmitted through his Japanese teachers (Takao Nakazaka & Hirotashi Sakai, Oki Yoga TT) who laid the foundation of this understanding relationship between eastern anatomical and physiological knowledge well preserved in writing and tradition more so than the word of mouth transmissions (and new age misinterpretations) of the subtle energy out of India.
Other east Asian influences for Simon include training Wing Chun Kung Fu under Grandmaster William Cheung in 2000.
And finally but perhaps most impact-fully, Simon was initiated to Tibetan Yoga & Tantric Philosophy from 1977 by Lama Ta-fi.
In his words
(In physical education & yoga) “we’re often taught what to do, but not always how to feel what’s happening inside.
The aim isn’t to replace what you already know, but to give you new lenses through which to understand movement, effort, rest, and flow—both for your own practice and for teaching others”
